Project Accountant – Construction

We’re partnering with an established construction firm seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support its Fort Lauderdale team. This role works closely with Project Managers and accounting leadership to manage project billings, subcontractor payments, compliance documentation, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate brings at least three years of experience in a construction Project Accountant role. Oracle Textura experience is a major plus , with an opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly subcontractor billing, including pay applications, compliance tracking, and payment approvals.
• Process and post project billings and payments in the company’s ERP system.
• Reconcile Textura activity with ERP records to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post monthly construction project invoices.
• Collect and review lien waivers and other required subcontractor documentation.
• Partner with Project Managers on job cost reporting and project financial records.
• Support project audits throughout construction and closeout.
• Communicate with subcontractors and vendors regarding billing requirements and payment status.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a Project Accountant in construction , ideally 3–5+ years.
• Experience with project billing, subcontractor payments, accounts payable, and job cost reporting.
• Oracle Textura Payment Management experience strongly preferred; candidates without Textura experience will also be considered.
• Familiarity with Vista/Viewpoint, Procore, or similar construction accounting systems preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with project teams.
