Clinical Mental Health Therapist

ABOUT US QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree from an accredited school ofprofessional counseling or related field required. Active,unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor(LCPC) in the State of Illinois required. Licensed Clinical SocialWorker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Certified Alcohol and DrugCounselor (CADC) with concurrent independent licensure will also beaccepted. Experience: Minimum of 2 years post grad work experience andexperience facilitating psychoeducation, process, and/or supportgroups required, as are excellent professional written and verbalcommunication skills. Must have strong ability to workcollaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and the flexibilityto respond dynamically to student and operational needs of thecounseling center. Preferred experience includes experience working in higher levelsof care (IOP/PHP/Residential). Experience working with substanceabuse and mental health clients. Experience managing a caseload ofclients. JOB DESCRIPTION 42.11306 ABOUT THE TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES Characteristic Duties: Completes intakes and bio-psycho-social assessments withstudents. Provides evidence-based clinical mental health therapy withresponsiveness to cultural, developmental and trauma informed needsof students and compliant with the America Counseling Association(ACA) code of ethics. Develops short-term treatment plans with each student and updatesplans in a regular cadence to determine continued therapeuticneed. Provides students with case management and coordination of carewith campus community resources and/or community partners. Facilitates skills workshops and therapeutic process groups for thestudent campus community. Completes clinical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record(EMR) within standards of practice and College operationalpolicies. Assists with campus and community outreach to promote visibility ofcounseling resources and services on campus. Engages in a cross collaborative clinical case conferenceweekly. Engages in professional development activities (e.g. projects,committees, tasks) both on campus and off to maintain clinicallicense, remain current with behavioral health standards ofpractice, improve skills, and expand competency. Assists Counseling Services Manager with data collection for MentalHealth Early Action on Campus Act (MHEACA) grant reporting. Performs other duties as needed. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature. Equipment/Tools Used: Utilize standard office equipment, including computers, in order toperform the duties of the job.
