If that sounds like an environment in which you will thrive, Carpenter Co. could be a great fit for you!Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an assembly worker in the molded foam department on 2nd shift [2:00pm - 10:00pm] at our Elkhart, Indiana foam manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for preparing molds for molding production, trims flash off molded parts coming out of mold, and places part on overhead conveyor. The hourly pay rate for this position is $21.97 to $22.79 per hour. There is an additional $2.00 per hour shift premium for working 2nd shift hours.Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a normal production environment with interaction and communication with fellow employees, operator/lead person and area supervisor. This position may also involve performing other positions in department.Additional responsibilities of the molding operator will include:Carefully remove parts from the moldPlace HR parts on the conveyorPlace all Visco parts on the Monorail pansNotify management of any problems (defects) seen with the partsClean excess flash and any foam that is sticking to the tools (molds)Ability to pack pillows and other production products into bags with proper stock label per customer specification.Willingness work on Value or Order within the departmentSkills/ RequirementsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree required.Entry level with 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.Must be able to work at a fast pace.Basic math and have basic computer knowledge.Safely and efficiently operate a forklift.Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds.Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.Must be able to follow directions well and work with co-workers in a team environment.Will be required to work overtime during production upticks.Must be able to stand for an 8 - 10 hour production shift.Carpenter Co. conducts pre-employment drug testing on all applicants that receive and accept a written offer of employment.Carpenter Co. offers a comprehensive benefits package including excellent health insurance, generous profit sharing plan, and much more.
