Job Summary

Operating Room Open Heart — Milwaukee, WI. The position supports cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment. The surgical team provides care across complex cases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, valve replacement, robotic thoracic procedures, heart transplant, and peripheral vascular bypass procedures.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN): Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and at least 2 years of operating room experience. Operating Room Technician (ORT): Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, graduation from an accredited school, and at least 2 years of operating room experience. Surgical Assistant: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, graduation from an accredited school, and at least 2 years of surgical assistant experience. Anesthesia Technician: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and at least 1 year of anesthesia technician experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification for Operating Room Technicians and Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification for Surgical Assistants.
• Schedule: Rotating schedule with 8-hour shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Strong cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience is required across multiple specialties, with the ability to work independently and with minimal guidance. Clinical responsibilities may include coronary artery bypass grafting, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, valve replacement, robotic thoracic procedures, generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplant, and femoral-popliteal bypass procedures. Anesthesia Technicians must be able to operate blood gas, transesophageal echocardiography, and ultrasound equipment. Weekend coverage is on call, including a once-monthly 24-hour weekend call from Saturday through Sunday, with end-of-shift call up to once weekly. A 30-minute response time is required. Holiday coverage is on call as needed. Orientation is two weeks.
