Speech and Language Pathologist
Location: Multi Location
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Valid Arkansas license in Speech and Language Pathology
Reports To: Director of Special Education
Job Goals: To help reduce or eliminate speech impediments that interfere with the individual student's ability to derive full benefit from the district's educational program.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose communication disorders according to state and federal special education guidelines.
- Participate in evaluation conferences.
- Implement an individual education plan for assigned students.
- Cooperate with teachers and parents by providing information, discussing appropriate goals and offering any other assistance.
- Monitor and conduct ongoing evaluation of student progress.
- Participate in parent conferences to review students' progress.
- Conduct a conference when additional changes or discontinuance of a special program is indicated.
- Cooperate in the districts' inservice training program.
- Maintain special education due process/work files.
- Document progress of students and maintain information needed for Medicaid billing.
- Know Board of Education policies, Desegregation Plan, district and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to the same.
Terms of Employment:
Salary Range: Range 16 - Support Staff Daily Salary Schedule ($356.88/day – $504.66/day depending on relevant experience)
Length of Contract: 190 contract days
FLSA Status: Exempt
Personnel Status: Classified
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Support Staff Personnel.
