Network Engineer

Job Summary
Our client, a leading airline company, is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, automate, and support large-scale enterprise network infrastructure. This role will focus heavily on Fortinet firewalls, network automation, and Microsoft Azure Networking, while also providing technical guidance, supporting network operations, and leading network projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in production environments, developing detailed network designs, and participating in after-hours change windows and on-call support.



This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain network device configuration scripts and supporting change documentation to meet project goals and deadlines
• Implement network infrastructure changes during scheduled change windows, including after-hours maintenance
• Review network engineering and change documentation prepared by other engineers and provide technical feedback
• Develop processes to test network applications and devices before production deployment, evaluate performance, and recommend optimization steps
• Provide Tier 2 technical support to the network operations team and participate in an on-call escalation rotation
• Translate business and technical requirements into actionable network solutions and deliverables
• Lead small- to medium-sized internal data network projects from design through implementation
• Create detailed physical and logical network designs for complex enterprise environments
• Serve as a technical resource and provide guidance on data, voice, mobile, and network technologies to help teams develop effective solutions
• Apply network automation and scripting to improve infrastructure deployment, configuration, and operational efficiency
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, assess technical risks, and deliver reliable production network solutions

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience/training
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale network solutions in production environments
• Strong experience as a Senior Network Engineer working with Fortinet Firewalls
• Hands-on network infrastructure automation and scripting experience
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Networking
• Experience with enterprise network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and production support
• Ability to develop network configuration scripts and technical/change documentation

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, or a related technical field
• Experience with routing and switching
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
• Airline industry experience
• Experience with complex enterprise network architectures and large-scale infrastructure projects

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $34.00 and $48.00 . Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
