Surgical Tech (OR Tech) – Days, Redwood City, CA

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join a busy Operating Room team on a 13-week contract. This is a great opportunity for a skilled OR Tech looking to work in a high-volume surgical setting with a strong variety of case types.

Shift Details

• Shift: Days, variable starts between 6:00 AM–9:00 AM
• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Duration: 13 weeks (26-week contracts preferred)
• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Weekend Requirement: Not required

Unit Information

• Unit Type: OR (Operating Room)
• Care Setting: Acute
• Division: Allied Health
• Unit Size: 4 beds in Main OR, 8 beds in the Pavilion
• Charting System: Cerner Surginet
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1 (nurses circulate; scrub ability is a plus but not required)
• Charge Nurse: Yes (does not take patient assignments)

Case Types & Volume

• Main OR: Primarily ortho cases (total hips, knees, joints)
• Pavilion: Neuro/ortho spine, CV cases (specific team), general, gynecology, urology, and ENT
• Case Volume: 15–25 cases/day; approx. 400/month
• Inpatient Cases: 20–25%
• Anesthesia handled by anesthesiologists only (no CRNAs)
• Critical patients transfer directly to ICU post-op

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OR/Surgical Tech experience required
• CV or robotic case experience required only if applicable to assignment
• Cerner Surginet experience strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable with fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
• Facility has very specific OR processes — adaptability is key

Required Certifications

• BLS Certification
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) via NBSTSA
• COVID Vaccine Required
