Oil Filled Cable Assembler

SUMMARY The following is a description of overall responsibility as it supports the department and how the role impacts the company. The purpose of this role and job functions supports the production team by assembling oil-filled cable components and assemblies used in manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for assisting with cable assembly processes, including handling cable materials, preparing components, routing wires, assembling parts, and supporting production flow according to manufacturing instructions and quality standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following is a framework of the essential duties and responsibilities for this role. Basic duties are outlined here and are not limited to this outline. Assemble oil filled cable components and assemblies according to work instructions Route, organize, and handle wires and cables carefully to prevent damage Assist with cable preparation, tubing installation, and wire organization Install components, hardware, and related materials into assemblies Use hand tools, fixtures, and basic production equipment as trained Verify materials and completed work for accuracy and quality Follow production drawings, manufacturing procedures, and assembly instructions Maintain organization of materials, tools, and workstations Meet daily production and quality expectations Follow all company quality standards, safety procedures, and production requirements Maintain a clean and organized work area Must be able to work a consistent schedule QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. No previous manufacturing experience required Willingness to learn and follow instructions Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail Basic communication and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently after training EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, computer data, and procedure manuals. The ability to speak effectively, and clearly so others can understand you, before individuals or groups. SOCIAL SKILLS Ability to continually interact with others as a contributing member of a close-knit team. Ability to work closely together with others, possibly of different backgrounds and interests, without friction. Works well with people. Able to maintain strict confidentiality. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Aptitude to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. COMPUTER SKILLS Ability to comfortably use computer software in Windows environment. Intermediate to advanced understanding of manufacturing/MRB software, word-processing, spreadsheet, and related office applications. GENERAL Self-starter, able to work independently, able to work under pressure, comfortable with interacting with multiple levels of organization, able to work cross-functionally within organization to accomplish objectives, results oriented. The employee must regularly lift and/or move tooling and components weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision for assembly, color vision for quality checks, and depth perception.
