Position Summary

Savannah Tank & Equipment Corporation is seeking a dependable, highly accurate Receiving Clerk to manage the documentation and system entry associated with incoming materials.

This position requires much more than simply accepting deliveries. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring that the physical material received, vendor delivery documentation, purchase order, job information, and required QC documentation all agree before the receipt is entered into JobBOSS .

Accuracy is critical. Purchase orders may be received in multiple shipments, and a single purchase order may contain material associated with multiple Savannah Tank job numbers. The successful candidate must be comfortable working through these details carefully, recognizing discrepancies, and asking questions rather than making assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and compare the physical shipment against purchase orders, packing slips, and other vendor documentation.
• Accurately enter material receipts into JobBOSS .
• Properly process partial receipts when only part of a purchase order has been delivered.
• Accurately identify and record material associated with the correct job number , including purchase orders containing material for multiple jobs.
• Verify quantities, item information, purchase order details, and job information before completing receiving transactions.
• Identify discrepancies between the physical shipment, vendor paperwork, purchase order, and JobBOSS records.
• Investigate or escalate discrepancies before completing the transaction rather than assuming or guessing.
• Verify that required QC and material documentation accompanies applicable shipments.
• Contact vendors by phone or email to obtain missing QC documentation when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and organized receiving records and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with Purchasing, Quality Control, and other departments when receiving information is incomplete, incorrect, or unclear.
• Assist with monitoring consumable and supply inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Assist with unloading and material handling as required.
• Operate a forklift if required and appropriately trained.
• Perform other related receiving and inventory duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior receiving, inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
• Previous hands-on experience using an ERP/MRP or inventory management system strongly preferred.
• JobBOSS or SAP experience is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform highly accurate data entry and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to compare information across multiple documents and identify discrepancies.
• Comfortable working with purchase orders, quantities, part/material descriptions, job numbers, and other detailed information.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain complete documentation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and coworkers.
• Proficient with computers and comfortable learning business software.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel preferred.
• Ability to work independently while recognizing when additional information or clarification is needed.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to safely work in a manufacturing and receiving environment.
• Forklift experience is a plus but is not required.
• Must meet Savannah Tank's pre-employment requirements.

• Required QC documentation is obtained and maintained.
• JobBOSS contains accurate receiving information.
• Discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly.
