Job Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Contract for 13 weeks, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM or an alternate schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Every other weekend and available for holidays if needed.

Assignment Details

Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various emergency diagnoses. Ratios are 1:5 during day, night, and weekend shifts. Orientation is 24 hours, with one day of pre-approved time off.

Requirements

• Active New York RN license (not compact)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Valid NIHSS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (2 years preferred)
• Experience in Emergency Department or acute care preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Key clinical skills in emergency care, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and ventilator management

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and triage for patients
• Monitor cardiac activity and manage dysrhythmias
• Start and maintain IVs, manage blood products, and perform central line care
• Assist with ventilator management and provide CPAP/BiPAP support
• Conduct stroke and neuro-trauma assessments and care
• Provide basic procedural support, including phlebotomy and procedural sedation monitoring

Compliance / Notes

Must float within skillset as required. Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the contract without charge. COVID-19 vaccine is not required.
