Training and Development Specialist - Journeyman

Training and Development Specialist – Journeyman Responsibilities Provide occupational knowledge to instructional systems teams as a subject matter expert for the Aviation Ordnance (AO) rating for Navy Training Curriculum Development. Assure the technical and operational accuracy of training products. Support Instructional Systems Analysts in identifying and validating training requirements. Support the Industrial/Organizational Psychologist in developing human performance metrics. Develop target audience learning profiles. Provide technical expertise in developing straw‑man task lists to expedite task analysis. Guide the conduct of task‑analysis workshops. Assist in determining courseware presentation and media for the subject matter. Consult on assessment item difficulty. Develop POA & Ms, research designs, progress reports, and final reports. Serve as advisor to NAWCTSD Orlando acquisition functions and other Navy/DoD organizations on instructional technologies and methodologies. Communicate with industry professionals and transfer advances in instructional technology for data collection and evaluation. Provide guidance for meetings and conferences to coordinate research efforts and interface with other technical codes. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates with formal Aviation Ordnance training considered. 6+ years of additional work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s or associate degree, and 4+ years of additional work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. 5+ years experience in DoD training, Navy training preferred. Secret clearance required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must attend all customer in‑person meetings and conferences within two (2) hours. Ability to travel locally up to 50%. Coordinate and integrate multiple projects simultaneously. Effective oral and written communication skills. Apply Integrated Learning Environment principles and guidelines for training product design. Develop learning and assessment strategies to close identified training gaps. Verify technical and operational accuracy of content in materials. Assist in the planning process. Enhance relationships among program subjects and recommend improvements. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Maintain high integrity and accountability. Strong problem‑solving and leadership skills.
