Precision Machinist

The purpose of this position: Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts that meet precise specifications. Duties and Responsibilities: Set-up and Operate CNC and manual machines from proven programs and other documentation with minimal supervision. Follow instructions on routers, drawings, and SOPs (standard operating procedures) and use proper methods of producing a quality part. Use traditional inspection equipment such as dial indicators, micrometers, height gages, and Vernier calipers to verify accuracy and quality of work. Conduct first piece checks with QA sign off. Make geometry, fixture, and tool length offset adjustments as required. Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Prioritize workflow through effective communication with technical lead or supervisor. Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Document time and production data using Epicor software. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Education / Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Two-year technical degree preferable. 1 to 3 years basic machine shop experience. Blueprint, GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing). Technical specification knowledge and demonstrated computer and mathematics skills. Working Conditions: Safety glasses and safety shoes. Exposure to chemicals and oils. Standing 75 % of shift. Some occasional heavy lifting, but not for long periods of time (up to 50 lbs.). The range for this position is $21.00 hourly rate - $35.50 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
