Chaplain Resident

Job Description

The Chaplain Resident is the member of the team who is responsible for the spiritual component of the pastoral services for the hospital. This position functions as a competent pastoral care provider with the ability to relate cooperatively with patients, family members, peers and other hospital personnel while a participant in the clinical education program of Baptist Health Care.

Responsibilities

Incorporates a commitment to quality, which focuses on the needs of clients and families. Oversees the design and implementation of all materials and assessment forms either distributed to families or used in assessment. Develops education programs and memorial services/rituals for staff/families on the spiritual components of loss/ethics as requested by the director. Participates in community and volunteer education programs. Develops, co-facilitates, and supervises bereavement groups for families and community clients as appropriate. Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
