Upstream Processing Scientist - I (Assistant)

JSG is seeking an Upstream Processing Scientist for our client in West Point PA We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Upstream Processing Scientist - I (Assistant) to support innovative laboratory operations in a dynamic biotech environment. In this role, you'll contribute to the development of life-saving vaccines by performing essential upstream bioprocessing tasks, working alongside a talented team dedicated to scientific excellence. Pay $36.78/hour What You’ll Bring: B.S. in Biology, Bio/chemistry, Bio/chemical Engineering, or a related field At least six months of hands‑on laboratory experience in upstream bioprocessing, including bioreactor operations, microbial and mammalian cell culture Skills in aseptic techniques, pipetting, and solution preparation Experience with culturing cells, performing basic cell‑based assays, and using spreadsheets in Excel Proficiency in operating bioreactors and conducting in‑process monitoring Strong computer literacy and quick adaptability to new software Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Additional Skills: Basic knowledge of downstream processes such as lysis, centrifugation, and filtration Other Requirements: Willingness to support onsite work, with occasional off‑hours or weekend shifts (not typically exceeding 40 hours per week) Capable of maintaining accurate records following good laboratory practices (GLP) Self‑motivated with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills Johnson Service Group, Inc.
