Senior Manager, Manufacturing Technical Services (Wednesday-Saturday)

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Manager for Manufacturing Technical Operations to oversee quality-event management for cell and gene therapy manufacturing in Boston. The role involves leading a team, managing CAPAs and deviations, conducting complex investigations, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop team of five or more executing quality records, change controls, and investigations
• Provide strategic oversight of complex CAPA and change-control projects with cross-functional leadership
• Conduct major deviation investigations to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions
• Monitor quality-event performance metrics and trends to identify risks and allocate resources
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant closure of quality records and inspection readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or related technical field
• 6+ years biopharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, or process engineering experience
• 2+ years staff mentoring, supervising, or management experience
• In-depth knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with trend evaluation capability
• Excellent cross-functional communication and leadership abilities
• Experience with GMP investigations, CAPAs, deviations, and change controls preferred

Compensation: $142,000 - $213,000 base
