Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Michigan

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Every other weekend required.

Job Description: A Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for performing the nursing process as the basis for patient care. RNs provide direction and oversight to licensed and non-licensed staff and show compassion to recipients of services, coworkers, and surrounding communities through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, and professional excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and develop a collaborative plan of care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide and coordinate nursing care to individuals and groups of patients in collaboration with the physician.
• Assist in the teaching of patients and their families, providing milieu management.
• Communicate and educate patients and families about discharge and aftercare planning needs.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in both individual and group settings.
• Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor and report any potential risks to patient safety that could lead to adverse outcomes.
• Promote a customer/client friendly environment by adhering to quality improvement standards.
• Provide care in various clinical settings to diverse patient populations.
• Function as a clinical leader, delegating and coordinating staff assignments.
• Model the mission and values of the organization in all professional interactions.
• Support and promote a recovery-focused environment within the program.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of behavioral health experience - Required
• Pediatric experience - Required
• Active RN license in the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification.
