Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description The Director of the Library shall be directly responsible for the operation of the Carnegie Vincent Library, including the Reed Medical and Allied Health Sciences Library and the Mabel Smith Music Library. Flexible or hybrid work arrangements may be considered based on the qualifications of the successful candidate, the responsibilities of the position, and the operational needs of the University. Required Qualifications MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited program; at least three years administrative experience working in an academic library. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in Library Science or related field Physical Demands Campus Harrogate Job Duty Job Duty Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large Job Duty Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students Job Duty chair the Library and Learning Resources Committee, serve on other University Job Duty committees as needed Job Duty administer the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of library service, including the health sciences library Job Duty develop and implement policies and procedures, in consultation with the Library and Learning Resources Committee, necessary for the operation and promotion of the library Job Duty coordinate, in consultation with the Library and Learning Resources Committee, the development of the library collection, maintain a collection responsive to the needs of the faculty, staff, and students Job Duty promote and maintain professional relationships with the faculty, staff, and students Job Duty promote the library Job Duty maintain the library s budget Job Duty oversee hiring of all library personnel; train, supervise and evaluate job performance of all direct reports and provide direction on personnel maters to unit supervisors.
