Specialized Finance ManagerThe Specialized Finance Manager provides seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members in a specialized finance function or discipline.Depth & Scope:Highly seasoned expert professional role requiring substantial knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areasIntegrates knowledge of the enterprise sub-function's or business line's overarching strategy in developing solutions across multiple functions or operationsAccountable for own work and sometimes others; acts as an escalation point or knowledge resource for others in their own areaInterprets internal/external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or servicesActs as a technical expert / lead integrating cross-function understanding within their own field of specialty; may manage team(s) of related specialistsLeads cross-functional teams or projects with significant resource requirements, risk and / or complexityIndependently manages end-to-end finance programsSolves or may lead others to solve complex problems; leads efforts or partners with others to develop new solutionsUses sophisticated analytical thought and technical knowledge to exercise judgement and identify solutionsImpacts the achievement of sub-function or business line objectives within the area they are accountable forCommunicates difficult concepts; converts information to compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholdersWorks autonomously as the lead and guides others within area of expertiseEducation & Experience:Undergraduate degree and/or7+ years of relevant experience preferredAccounting, financial or relevant professional designation preferredPreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in performing journal entries and reconciliations Experience converting reconciliationsExperienced in system conversionsAdvanced skills in Excel Working experience with EssbaseSkilled in extracting General Ledger dataCustomer Accountabilities:Focuses on comprehensive reviews, specialized analysis, audits and/or initiatives and a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring seasoned specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertiseFacilitates integration of several key functional areas and/or business lines in dealing and solving highly complex financial management/ specialized accounting / taxation / audit / regulatory reporting and operational issuesActs as the primary interface with Finance partners /leaders and external partiesActs as key contact and expert within area of expertise for the development, design and delivery of effective accounting/ taxation processes, policies, programs and adviceMaintains awareness of changing legal/regulatory requirements and practices within the industry and consults with policy/process owners within Accounting/ Taxation to ensure complianceEngages, manages and influences internal/external cross-functional partners to develop/deliver integrated solutionsAccountable for the development and delivery of broad enterprise wide accounting/ taxation policies and initiatives, which may have significant regulatory componentsCreates business cases and innovative recommendationsExecutes on diverse and complex policies, implements and develops activities and tools for businesses.
