Senior Technical Project Manager

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead large‑scale, high‑visibility technology initiatives for State and Local Government clients, with a primary focus on the State of Michigan. This role is a critical delivery position supporting multi‑year, multi‑million‑dollar software implementations with significant executive and public‑sector visibility. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned technical project manager who thrives in high‑pressure government environments, can effectively lead technical delivery teams, and is comfortable pushing back professionally when scope, timelines, or expectations require realignment. The role requires strong stakeholder presence, disciplined execution, and the ability to represent the organization directly with state leadership. What You’ll Do Serve as the primary delivery lead for state and local government technology initiatives Manage large, complex software projects exceeding $3M in value and spanning multiple years Lead and coordinate technical delivery teams of 5–8 software engineers Ensure project teams remain aligned, accountable, and on track against delivery milestones Begin by managing a single project, with the ability to scale up to 2–3 concurrent projects over time Interface in person with state government stakeholders at least once per month Represent the organization in a highly visible role with executive‑level and public‑sector leadership Proactively identify delivery risks and push back on scope or timeline changes while maintaining strong client relationships Required Skills & Experience 5–7+ years of technical project management experience within State, Local, or Federal Government environments Demonstrated experience managing software development projects Strong familiarity with enterprise‑level technology stacks (e.g., IBM, Red Hat, or similar platforms) Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies Ability to operate effectively in high‑visibility, high‑pressure government settings Local to Michigan and able to attend in‑person stakeholder meetings as required Nice to Have Bachelor’s Degree PMP certification #J-18808-Ljbffr Insight Global
