Senior Data Engineer

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors Data Platform RoleWe are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the global Data Platform team at Schonfeld. The team is re-envisioning Schonfeld's platform including the data-processing pipeline, research and back-testing infrastructure in the cloud. The platform is designed to allow PMs to analyze data, back test their strategies and deploy them to production seamlessly.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing functionality within the Data Platform. You will create new functionality within our data processing pipelines – which could be integrating new data formats, creating new analytic tools, or enhancing parallel compute capabilities. You will work on POCs and investigate new technologies. You will collaborate with Portfolio Managers as well as the data science and data ops teams to identify functionality and access gaps in loading data sets and ensure they are closed.QualificationsWhat you need:Expert level Python scripting and module creation/maintenanceExpertise working with financial dataExpertise with Big DataExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExperience building, deploying, running, and debugging at code at scale on the cloud using containers – AWS highly preferredExperience with high volume, high availability distributed systemsExperience mentoring junior engineersExperience and ability to work as part of an L3 rotationHighly skilled and analytical problem solver with logical thought processes and quantitative aptitudeStrong ownership experience and a track record of delivering resultsWe'd love if you had:Experience within a quantitative trading firm/hedge fundExperience with C++Experience with Cluster/Scheduler software solutionsOur CultureThe firm's ethos is embedded in our people.
