• Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 (Indian River County) - Florida nursing jobs
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (July 7, 2026 - October 6, 2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Travel: May float to nearby hospitals within 20 miles
• Scrub Color: White

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the U.S. (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 18 months recent RN experience in PCU/Cardiac Stepdown; 2 years preferred; ICU experience required
• Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required at submission; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
• Epic charting experience (proficiency level 3 or 4 required)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips (no titration), dysrhythmia interpretation
• Nicotine-free (facility requires negative nicotine screen)
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• First-time travelers welcome - travel nurse friendly orientation
• Ability to complete time-sensitive onboarding and competency modules prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips, telemetry, and acute changes in condition
• Interpret EKGs, recognize and manage dysrhythmias, and escalate care appropriately
• Respond to rapid response and code situations following hospital protocols
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines
• Perform oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management as needed
• Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and infection control standards
• Float to other units or nearby hospitals within scope of practice when required
• Complete required EKG and pharmacology tests during orientation
