Job Summary
A well-established legal services organization in Vero Beach, FL is seeking a Family Law Legal Assistant to support a busy Family Law litigation practice group. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a legal support professional with strong family law litigation experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume desk with professionalism and accuracy. The Family Law Legal Assistant will work closely with attorneys and legal team members in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Candidates who enjoy building client relationships, staying organized, and taking initiative in a fast-paced law firm setting will be well suited for this position. Key Responsibilities - Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, records, contact lists, and file listings.- Open new matters, complete conflict checks, close files according to established procedures, and update database records as needed.
- Type, proofread, edit, and prepare legal documents from dictation, handwritten notes, and attorney direction.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate conference rooms, and track important dates and deadlines.
- Support the billing process by entering attorney time, editing bills, calendaring billing due dates, and delivering invoices to clients.
- Answer, initiate, and route telephone calls while maintaining strong client communication and professional relationships. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support a busy Family Law litigation practice group with legal administrative and case management tasks.- Prepare, proofread, edit, and organize legal documents and correspondence.
- Manage attorney calendars, client communications, billing support, and file maintenance.
- Coordinate matter opening, conflict checks, file closing, and database updates. - 3 or more years of Family Law litigation experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong knowledge of legal assistant, legal secretary, or litigation support responsibilities.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage physical and electronic files with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong proofreading, typing, editing, organizational, and time management skills.
- Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with iManage or similar document management software.
- Prior experience supporting attorneys in a high-volume Family Law litigation practice.
