Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Emergency Room Intake Technician plays a critical role in supporting emergency department operations during the night shift. This position involves greeting and registering patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, and assisting emergency nurses and physicians with clinical tasks such as wound care, splinting, and patient extrication. The technician must work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, demonstrating flexibility and strong teamwork skills. Responsibilities:

• Perform patient reception and registration, including entering demographic and insurance data.
• Assist emergency department nurses and physicians with clinical procedures such as suture setup, wound cleaning, bandaging, and splinting.
• Extricate patients from vehicles as needed.
• Support patient care within the scope of an ER Technician role.
• Maintain flexibility with work schedule and task assignments.
• Perform various administrative and clerical duties related to patient intake.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed in the State of Illinois as an EMT or Paramedic, or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to work effectively in stressful situations.

• Experience working in an emergency department or similar fast-paced clinical setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize duties efficiently.

• Night shift work from 6:30pm to 7:00am.
• Weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Exposure to communicable diseases possible.
• Must be able to work in a high-stress emergency environment.
