Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) – Days – 9:00 PM–7:00 PM, 3x12 – Relocation Candidates Welcome Location: Hilo, HI Duration: 13 Weeks Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Time: Days – 9:00 PM–7:00 PM, 3x12 Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week Start: 12/14/2026 We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital (acute care) in Hilo, HI. In this role, you will provide high-acuity, step-down level care to patients who require closer monitoring than a general medical-surgical floor but do not yet meet intensive care criteria. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and assess patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions requiring continuous telemetry surveillance • Administer medications, IV drips, and titrate vasoactive agents per physician orders and established protocols • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, initiating rapid response or escalation of care as needed • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge planning • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) • Assist with procedures such as central line management, chest tube care, and arterial line monitoring ✅ Requirements • Active HI or Compact RN license • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications • 2+ years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) experience • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) Pay Pay range: $2,124 to $2,181 per week. Travel PCU RN package: up to $2,181/week (36 hours) = $40/hour taxable + up to $741/week in travel reimbursements if eligible under IRS tax-home and expense rules. Local package: $59/hour fully taxable ($2,124/week for 36 hours). Overtime paid in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour laws and the assignment agreement. Actual compensation varies based on hours worked, assignment terms and travel reimbursement eligibility.
