Warehouse Associate

Warehouse Associate – Union City, CA Pay: $25.00–$26.00 per hour. About the role: Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material. Stock and maintain the warehouse, and pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with company policy and procedure. Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction through detailed attention to accuracy. Handle shipping discrepancies and forward appropriate paperwork to the designated employee. Identify non-stock, special-order, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations. Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier. Load and unload trucks; operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely. Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/non-saleable merchandise that could impact service levels. Ensure security and controls are in place to protect profit-center assets. Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety; remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris. Assist co-workers in servicing customers as needed. Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s safety standards. Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and management. About you: 1 year of warehouse receiving and material handling experience. Knowledge of products sold at the profit center (preferred). Outstanding customer service and communication skills. Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the profit center. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Knowledge and application of safety precautions in a warehouse environment. Ability to learn to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment used at the profit center. Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used for warehouse operations. English literacy (reading, writing, speaking, understanding). Basic mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
