The unit handles general medical patients and surgical patients waiting for surgery. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment with a quicker patient turnover than a standard medical-surgical unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1. Applicants must demonstrate a solid work history with no gaps greater than 60 days. A skills checklist and professional references are required. Certification cards and license verification must also be provided.
