What You'll Do

The Senior Tax Manager is a leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tax function, including compliance, reporting, planning, and strategy. This role involves managing complex client engagements or corporate tax operations, driving business growth, and providing expert technical guidance to a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate possesses deep tax expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and high-value clients.

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the tax department, aligning team objectives with business goals and client needs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals while managing performance, resource allocation, and talent retention.
• Serve as the final reviewer for complex federal, state, local, and international tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee corporate, partnership, individual, and other specialized tax filings in accordance with applicable tax laws and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal control policies.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies that minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax efficiency.
• Advise clients and senior leadership on complex tax matters, business transactions, restructurings, and regulatory developments.
• Prepare and review complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual filings, particularly in high-risk or specialized situations.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in tax preparation and review activities to support workload demands, deadlines, and quality control initiatives.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all tax compliance and reporting deliverables.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support the growth of the tax practice.
• Develop proposals, participate in client presentations, and expand existing client relationships.
• Deliver exceptional client service while serving as a trusted advisor on complex tax and business matters.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Active CPA certification required.
• Master of Taxation (MTax) or related advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably within public accounting or a large corporate tax environment.
• Significant experience in a management, supervisory, or leadership role.
• 3+ years of demonstrated people leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
• Proven experience leading complex tax engagements and managing client relationships.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws and reporting requirements.
• Strong proficiency with enterprise tax technology platforms, including CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, SAP Tax, or similar systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience utilizing data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range

$120,000—$160,000 USD
