Gastroenterologist (MD/DO) Position Summary \n

The Gastroenterologist provides comprehensive medical and procedural care for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary system. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of digestive diseases, utilizing evidence-based medical management and endoscopic procedures to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities \n

• \n

  Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic disorders

\n
• \n

  Diagnose and treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, and gastrointestinal malignancies

\n
• \n

  Perform and interpret endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, consistent with training and privileges

\n
• \n

  Provide inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinic care as needed

\n
• \n

  Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based guidelines

\n
• \n

  Interpret diagnostic studies including laboratory tests, imaging, and pathology results

\n
• \n

  Collaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists

\n
• \n

  Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care

\n
• \n

  Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

\n
• \n

  Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives

\n
• \n

  Supervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, or fellows, as applicable

\n
• \n

  Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

\n

\n Qualifications \n

\n
• \n

  Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school

\n
• \n

  Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency

\n
• \n

  Completion of an accredited gastroenterology fellowship program

\n
• \n

  Board-eligible or board-certified in Gastroenterology

\n
• \n

  Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure

\n
• \n

  DEA registration or eligibility

\n
