Speech Therapy - Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) assignment for a 12-week contract with 40 guaranteed hours per week, working standard 8-hour day shifts. This role is primarily outpatient-focused, with occasional inpatient coverage as needed. The clinician will evaluate and treat a diverse patient population ranging from early childhood to geriatrics, addressing speech, language, voice, swallowing, cognitive-communication, and fluency disorders. The SLP will work largely independently, with minimal inpatient responsibilities and collaboration with a small team. Experience with video fluoroscopic swallow studies is required, although coverage for these studies is typically supported by another provider.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of SLP experience (default; CF not accepted)
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification required (CF-SLP not accepted)
• Active South Dakota SLP license required
• BLS certification required
• Epic experience required
• Experience with video fluoroscopic swallow evaluations required
• Ability to work independently in outpatient setting
• Experience across full patient lifespan (pediatric to geriatric) preferred

Unit Details: The SLP will evaluate and treat patients with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders, developing individualized care plans based on patient needs. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, implementing therapy interventions, and documenting all care in Epic. The clinician may occasionally float to inpatient settings for limited coverage, but the role remains primarily outpatient. The SLP must be comfortable working independently, using tools such as Dragon dictation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams when needed. The role requires maintaining clinical standards, supporting patient education, and ensuring high-quality care delivery across all patient populations.
