Physical Therapist - Acute Care

Seeking a dedicated Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our team at the new McLaren Healthcare Campus. In this role, you will collaborate directly with our multidisciplinary team to deliver unified, high-quality care that elevates the overall patient experience. The physical therapist will accurately assess, differentially diagnose, and identify deficits in a patient’s ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. They develop an individualized treatment plan with patient-centered goals to reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability and work with the individual to prevent the loss of mobility. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Performs patient evaluations through history, systems review, and specific tests to obtain data. Establishes an individualized plan of care and selects treatment techniques that address the specific impairments identified and in accordance with physician orders. Conducts ongoing reassessment of the patient and their response to treatment. Initiates and manages the discharge plan from the first visit and continues throughout treatment. Supervises and delegates to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws and department policy. Completes legible, accurate documentation within the established timeframe and in accordance with accreditation and insurance regulations. Communicates with the patient, family, caregivers, significant others, and health care team to promote maximum benefit of care using AIDET. Assesses educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs. Participates in professional growth and development through educational programs, in-service meetings, workshops, and literature review. Actively participates in quality improvement activities. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff, complying with safety standards. Functions within scope of practice as defined by the state’s practice act. Performs other related duties as required and directed. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy. Current state Board of Physical Therapy licensure. BLS certification. Preferred One year of physical therapist experience. Three years recent clinical expertise in area of concentration. McLaren Health Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
