A Day-in-the-life Of An ACG Car Care Technician ACG Car Care Technicians complete routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks, as directed by a manager or Service Advisor. They spend their day performing basic automotive repair, adjustments and maintenance procedures, including, but not limited to, oil changes, tire replacement & repairs, and general vehicle maintenance. General Service Technician Responsibilities Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for, and complete digital vehicle inspection Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs Test drive vehicles and prepare vehicles for delivery to customers after needed repairs and maintenance are complete Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience Learn from Technician A, B, and C colleagues to further advance your career Technician C Responsibilities All General Service Technician duties plus Perform automotive repairs, adjustments and maintenance procedures as outlined on repair orders Complete fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services, basic repair, and maintenance services, etc. Technician B Responsibilities All Technician C duties plus Work with, mentor, and train less experienced Technicians Perform all Service Technician C duties plus advanced repair and maintenance services. Technician A Responsibilities All Technician B duties plus Work with, mentor, and train less experienced Technicians Complete electrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, drivability diagnostics, etc. How We Reward Our Employees Pay rates starting at (rate based on experience + annual bonus eligibility) General Service Technician: $15 – $17 hourly C Technician: $17 – $25 hourly, based on production B Technician: $40,000 – $70,000+; hourly base with a weekly production bonus opportunity A Technician: $65,000 – $110,000+; hourly base with a weekly production bonus opportunity Excellent medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits Free AAA membership Up to 3 weeks of vacation in your first year 10 paid holidays (includes two half‑day holidays) 401(k) with matching contributions: an automatic 4% employer contribution; an additional 50% match up to 6% contribution Work‑life balance commitment Closed Sundays Shorter workdays than competitors; we close at 6 pm Monday–Friday: 7:30 am – 6 pm Saturday: 8 am – 4 pm Closed on major holidays All Service Technicians Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or Technical school certification Valid driver’s license Mechanical aptitude Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources; able to independently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance of automobiles and trucks Consistently demonstrate proper use of equipment and tools; maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores Preferred General Service Technician Qualifications G1‑Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred State inspection certificate where applicable AC 609 Certification Technician C Requirements All General Service Technician requirements plus Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in automotive repair or completion of a formal automotive training program Preferred C Technician Qualifications All General Service Technician preferred qualifications plus ASE Certifications (or equivalent). A4‑Suspension & Steering, A5‑Brakes AC 609 Certification Technician B Requirements All Technician C requirements plus 3 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center Preferred B Technician Qualifications All Technician C preferred qualifications plus Two other ASE certifications (or equivalent) AC 609 Certification Technician A Requirements All Technician B requirements plus 5 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center Preferred A Technician Qualifications All Technician B preferred requirements plus ASE Certifications (A1–A8) with Master Technician designation or the equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications ASE certification L1‑Advanced Engine Performance Specialist AC 609 Certification Work Environment May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment Position requires standing, walking, and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting and carrying automotive parts and equipment (up to approximately 80 pounds) Must have own tools appropriate for skill level for use in the center Must be able to work in the heat; some locations are not air‑conditioned, but fans are present in all facilities Must be able to maintain work on feet in a concrete facility for the entire shift Attendance Regular and reliable attendance is essential for success in this role.
