Bundle harvest bags, load dryer boxes, bail bundles of harvested material from the fields, remove tassel bags, or other used supplies from the fields, shoot bags, or used supplies from the field. Sort harvest bundles for shipping to shelling hubs. Lay out harvested material in tubs for selection. Work outside for at least seven (7) hours a day in all kinds of weather and maintain requisite strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. The employer will provide the tools necessary (if applicable) to perform the job described without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the worker's refusal or negligent failure to return tools or willful damage or destruction of tools. Plot Maintenance: Hand pulling weeds, hoeing weeds, rogueing off-type plants from corn field, placing stakes, attaching row tags. Husk/Sort Description: The corn flows over the husking beds and is husked, then added to the sorting tables where workers check for remaining husk on the ears. Perform quality checks for discolored, abnormal, or moldy corn/ears and remove from the sorting table. General Farm Labor / Clean-up of Field Property and Housing for Harvesting Workers: May perform miscellaneous clean-up work on field property, structures used in the field operation, and housing. Activities include sprouting, pruning, painting; debris removal, weeding, irrigation repair, housing and structure cleaning and repair; and general field clean-up as required. Dryer loadouts support the production process with labor as needed during the loadout process. While performing duties, workers are regularly required to stand and perform repetitive motions, exert physical effort, pull, push, twist, walk on uneven surfaces, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Dryer loadouts will unload and complete kernel cleans on all dryer bins. Green Corn Unloading: Assist during unloading of green corn trucks, collect samples from trucks, sweep/shovel corn as it piles up, and sweep/blow off floors, sides, and canopy frames of trailers. Assist in the use, repair, and operation of farm equipment such as tractors, trucks, trailers, and harvest machinery. Quality Check / Sampling: monitor quality through visual checks or sampling, set up materials, load materials onto equipment, stack/unstack product, and handle materials with forklift; perform re-working of product by replacing labeling or loading bags onto conveyors and general housekeeping. Check quality by comparing pictures of acceptable quality to current products and reject items not meeting the standard. This set of duties comprises about 10% of the work time and may be performed at a facility in the field on the farm. This role requires occasional lifting of bags weighing 45–60 lbs.
