Night Auditor

Night Auditor Purpose of Position Night Auditors greet and register guests, provide outstanding service, settle accounts, complete audit reports, balance house accounts and credit cards, manage reservations, maintain confidentiality, and maximize revenue. Essential Functions Maintain a positive outlook and professional appearance. Keep confidential information secure. Run audit reports per checklist. Process no‑shows per policy. Conduct security walks a minimum of four times per shift. Prepare lobby coffee service and breakfast if applicable. Multi‑task, be detail‑oriented, and problem‑solve for internal and external customers. Handle guest complaints professionally and courteously. Communicate effectively and convey information clearly. Perform basic math and understand financial information. Identify safety or loss prevention incidents and implement safety policies. Complete training in security, alcohol, and health and safety; follow OSHA, State, and Federal guidelines. Coordinate with other departments to keep room status current and repairs timely. Use persuasive selling techniques to promote rooms and marketing programs. Perform front‑desk duties including greeting guests, processing transactions, balancing reports, cash control, reservations, phone system, shift logs, and basic office equipment. Schedule wake‑up calls per procedures. Understand hotel cancellation, extended stay, rate, and special request policies. Control key distribution and management. Process lost and found items per policy. Operate computer equipment, including Microsoft Office. Assist in training new staff. Support a positive work environment. Understand hotel products and services (food, beverage, recreation). Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Communicate with staff, guests, and management professionally. Knowledge of surrounding area and events. Proper telephone etiquette. Understand and follow cash and credit card handling policies. Read, write and speak English. Learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies. Neat and well‑groomed appearance; wear proper uniform and name tag. Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Accountability Complete night audit training within required timeframe. Submit daily checklists per procedures. Maintain high quality, service and cleanliness. Maintain smooth front desk operations. Communicate openly with direct supervisor. Maintain guest survey score within acceptable range. Experience High school education. 1 year hospitality or guest service experience (preferred). Detail‑oriented. License / Certification Complete night audit training program within brand required time frame. Marginal Job Functions Clean guestrooms and public areas as needed. Restock front desk supplies. Help with laundry as needed. Deliver crib, towels, or other items to guestrooms as requested. Perform light maintenance duties. Restock inventory and sell guest marketplace and pub (if applicable). Physical Demands Stand, walk, use hands and fingers for up to 8 hours. Repeat same movements, frequent keyboarding. Understand speech and speak clearly. Read and see details. Lift up to 10 pounds occasionally; up to 35 pounds from time to time. Stoop, kneel, twist or crouch occasionally. Environmental Conditions Work inside for at least 75% of time. Must handle stressful environment, communicate effectively, deal with guests, accept constructive criticism, and adapt quickly.
