School-Based Physical Therapist
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a school-based Physical Therapist during the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, onsite position (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday) offers the chance to make a direct impact in the school community, with the added option to transition into a permanent role.
Work with a diverse caseload of students ages 3-21 where your expertise will help shape developmental milestones and foster greater independence. Caseload specifics will be discussed during the interview to ensure the best match for your skills and interests.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license
- Deep understanding of typical and atypical sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal function/dysfunction
- Experience conducting evaluations and implementing treatment plans for students ages 3-21, including those with multiple disabilities
- Proficiency in selecting and utilizing orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and assistive devices for the school-aged population
- Strong collaborative and communication abilities for working with students, educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
What You'll Do:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to students in alignment with IEP goals
- Assess students' needs and progress, documenting results and adapting interventions accordingly
- Consult with classroom staff and families to facilitate mobility, safety, and accessibility in the learning environment
- Provide guidance on adaptive equipment and assistive technology to maximize student participation
