Clinical Psychologist

Responsibilities Observes patients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment. Provides consultation to other mental health team professionals regarding test results. Treats psychological disorders to improve adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, and family therapies. Provides crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment. Actively participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary Behavioral Health Team. Builds strong working relationships to improve communication and flow of information among all care teams at GLBHC. Promotes integration of care and champions workflows to improve access to care. Provides psychological consultations to other mental health professionals within GLBHC clinics and works closely with community-based agencies regarding clients and/or patient care. Participates in educational programs, department meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques. Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures in the EHR; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality. Advises and participates in development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures including the areas of risk management, quality improvements, and treatment modalities. Maintains current knowledge of all applicable guidelines/mandates as set forth by the State of Michigan and other accrediting or regulatory entities, Assists in the development of program workflows necessary for compliance. Marginal Job Duties Attends meetings and trainings. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Licensure: Certification/Licensure State of Michigan as a Licensed Psychologist Experience: At least 1 year of experience preferred directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Skills: Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current special education methodologies and techniques. Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client. Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills. Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. Ability to assess mental status in clients and to develop individual treatment goals and plans. Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation. Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses. Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records. Physical Effort: Must be able to sit, stand, and or walk for an entire workday. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Hours: Full-time or Part-time, Monday through Friday. Flexible and varied. Travel: Some travel between sites required. Travel may be required in order to attend pertinent conferences; with travel, lodging, and living costs reimbursed at the existing rate of the corporation. Reimbursement for expenses will occur in accordance with GLBHC policy.
