Overview Texas Oncology - Deke Slayton Webster location part of the Gulf Coast Region is seeking a full‑time, team‑oriented Certified Medical Physicist (Ph.D. or M.S.) to join our team. We are open to hiring an upcoming 2026 Physics Resident graduate and holding the position until their July 1, 2026 graduation date or an early date if available. Texas Oncology has more than 220 sites of service throughout Texas, with more than 600+ providers. Responsibilities What does the Medical Physicist do? The Medical Physicist is responsible for the design, optimization, technical evaluation, and precise delivery of radiation treatment plans. Responsibilities include patient and staff safety, participation in clinical, research, and educational duties, and adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program. Facilities and Equipment: 10 cancer centers with full‑range external beam radiation and HDR therapy. 10 linacs (TrueBeam, C-Series), 4 Elekta HDRs, ARIA ROIS, Eclipse, RadCalc; 250 patients per day. QA tools include IC Profiler, MapCheck2, SNC SunCHECK, 3D imaging. Based in Houston. The essential duties and responsibilities: Provide full range of on‑site clinical medical physics support, including HDR. Support and participate in physics support for the Gulf Coast Region. Occasionally travel to sites within the region for on‑site physics support. Determine, specify, and access dosimetric and treatment planning equipment. Advise and consult with physicians and technical staff during planning and treatment. Qualifications Desired Skills and Qualifications: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited institution. ABR certified or have completed a CAMPEP‑approved residency and be board eligible, with clinical experience. Texas Medical Board license required or to be obtained.
