Bridge Inspection Team LeaderThe AECOM North Carolina Transportation team is seeking a Bridge Inspector Team Lead to join our growing structural and transportation group located in Raleigh, NC. This role will support the planning, analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and related transportation structures across a variety of public-sector projects.Key responsibilities include:Performing field inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and local agency requirements. Estimated 8-10 days of travel per month within North Carolina and neighboring statesOverseeing inspection teams in the field, including mentoring and training of junior staff on inspection methodologies and best practicesCompleting Quality Control reviews on inspection reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standardsCompleting Load Ratings for in-service and new bridges in accordance with applicable codes and specificationsPerforming structural design of new and rehabilitated bridges using industry-standard software and analysis toolsPreparing comprehensive inspection reports and technical documentation for submission to client agencies and stakeholdersCoordinating with public-sector agencies, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives and timelines are metEnsuring compliance with all applicable safety protocols, regulations, and OSHA requirements during field operationsPerforming specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineerGathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined proceduresWorking on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple testsProposing approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignmentsIdentifying discrepancies in results and recommending corrective actionsProviding guidance and professional development support to entry-level engineersPerforming work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with minimal supervisionIndependently performing all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering worksQualificationsMinimum requirements:BA/BS degree plus 4 years of related experience, or AS Degree plus 6 years of related experience, or HS/GED plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or educationValid US Driver's License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records reviewFHWA / NHI Safety Inspection of In-service BridgesPosition requires frequent travel to project and field locations.
