Ninja Program Instructor

Job Title Ninja Program Instructor Pay & Benefits Pay Grade: 2 (Pay Range: $12.82-$16.02-$19.23). FLSA Status: Part Time-Non-Exempt. Reporting Reports to: Director of Youth Enrichment and Programs. Position Summary Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Builds members and the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s impact. This position instructs and supervises ninja classes, open ninja gyms and rentals in a safe, enjoyable, culturally aware, and positive environment that promotes youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living following YMCA policies. Essential Functions Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. Leads energizing, fun, culturally aware, safe classes and open ninjas, as directed by the supervisor, to carry out the YMCA mission and goals. Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their healthy living goals. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members. Provides direct instruction and supervision to ninja participants following the YMCA Best practices, policies, and procedures. Conveys program information, surveys, and annual campaigns to participants. Follows all YMCA emergency and safety procedures. Upholds all YMCA policies, procedures, standards, and code of conduct. Projects a positive, enthusiastic, and professional image on the job. Communicates respectfully and effectively with class participants, superiors, and co-workers. Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration. Requirements Must be at least age 17. Must have fundamental knowledge and proper use of ninja/gymnastics equipment. Must be able to implement oral and written instructions. 1‑2 years of experience working with children ages 1‑12. 1‑2 years of Ninja, gymnastics or related coaching or teaching experience preferred.
