Leave of Absence Specialist

Duration: 2–3 Month Contract (Potential for Extension) Pay Rate: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist to join a growing HR team in Los Angeles. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for extension, supporting employees and management through the full leave administration process. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of federal and state leave regulations, exceptional communication skills, and experience managing multiple leave cases in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, pregnancy disability leave, workers' compensation, and other state and federal leave programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and HR partners regarding leave-related questions and processes. Review leave requests, determine eligibility, and provide required documentation and notices. Track and maintain leave records, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Coordinate with third-party leave administrators, payroll, benefits, and management teams as needed. Monitor leave timelines and communicate return-to-work expectations and requirements. Support interactive process discussions and reasonable accommodation requests. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation. Assist with audits, reporting, and leave-related projects as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of experience administering leave of absence programs. Strong knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, workers' compensation, and California leave regulations. Experience working with HRIS and leave management systems. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of cases. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
