Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Private Caregiver to provide personalized, high-quality care to a woman in her mid 60's . We are looking for individuals who may have experience with memory care and brain injuries. We are looking for individuals who can be a good companion and friend and that can keep up with a mobile person who is a fall risk. The shifts would mostly be day until early evening (8am-8pm) with an occasional over night. This paid position is perfect for someone passionate about supporting individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately in care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Assist with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols.
• Meal prep.
• Daily Cleaning for the bedroom and bathroom area.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces on designated days.
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families about care plans, progress, and any concerns to foster trust and transparency
• MUST have own vehicle that is insured to drive the client to and from medical appointments or around town for activities.
• MUST be willing to pass a background check.
• Driving the client around town to site see and do fun activities, ie, go to the movies, mall, etc.
• Monitor portion control for an individual who is not able to experience hunger and a feeling of fullness.
• Play board and card games to keep the client mentally stimulated.
• Complete detailed list of responsibilities and duties will be discussed in person to describe the tailored needs for the client.

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
• Experience working with geriatric patients and individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation and monitor vital signs accurately.
• Experience providing dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory support, or hospice care is preferred.
• Be adaptable for the specific behaviors and needs of this client.
• Be able to follow and keep a routine in place and adjust as needed for the patient/guardian.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts; familiarity with patient transfer methods is essential.
• Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism supports your success in this role.
• Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications related to geriatrics or social work are advantageous.
• Strong communication skills combined with a caring attitude enable effective client interaction and team collaboration.
