Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Behavioral Health License: Valid RN license in Virginia Certifications: BLS HWC MANDT TOVA - certified de-escalation/physical hold training Must-Have Skills/Experience: Previous experience in Psychiatry or Behavioral Health Description: This position involves working in a behavioral health division. The role focuses on inpatient nursing. You will be responsible for caring for patients with mental health diagnoses. Common diagnoses include Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, and Anxiety. You should expect to work with a flexible, team-oriented approach. Ideal candidates will demonstrate self-awareness and kindness in patient interactions. The unit has 72 beds with a patient ratio of 1:10. Equipment used includes vitals machines, EKGs, bladder scanners, metal detectors, and AEDs. Electronic Health Records will be managed using Cerner. You may float to all units, including child, adult, and geriatric. A patient-centered focus is essential in this role. Dress code requires scrubs in navy with restrictions on excessive or long jewelry and hoodies.
