Senior Audit Associate

Our client, a boutique public accounting firm in the Rosemont area, is looking to add an Audit Senior to their team. This is a strong opportunity for someone with 2–5 years of public accounting audit experience who is looking for hands-on exposure, direct client interaction, and the ability to grow quickly within a collaborative environment.

This firm offers significant on-the-job learning and exposure from day one. Team members are given ownership of projects, encouraged to think critically, communicate directly with clients, and continuously take on more responsibility as they grow. The partners maintain an open-door policy and are highly involved in mentoring and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements for privately held clients
• Work directly with clients to gather financial information and support engagement needs
• Prepare workpapers, financial statements, and audit documentation
• Identify and communicate accounting or operational issues during engagements
• Collaborate with seniors, managers, and partners throughout the engagement process
• Develop an understanding of client operations and industry-specific accounting practices
• Participate in client meetings and continue building professional communication skills

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of audit experience within public accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Experience within the construction and/or real estate industries is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Motivated, proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

While public accounting is often associated with burnout, this firm takes a different approach and prioritizes maintaining a healthy workload so employees can continue providing high-quality service. Staff rarely exceed 50 hours per week, even during peak busy season periods.
