Job Title: Senior Accountant (Interim) Pay Rate: $50-55/hour Duration: 4-month engagement with possibility of extension Schedule: Hybrid – 2-3 days/week onsite in NYC Our client, a large global financial services and capital markets organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role will support month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, technical accounting research, and process improvement initiatives within a fast-paced corporate environment. Key Responsibilities: • Own monthly and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany activity, fixed assets, and liability accounts • Support external audits and maintain audit workpapers/documentation • Assist with technical accounting research, including revenue recognition and lease accounting matters • Partner with leadership on variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives • Support internal controls and SOX compliance efforts Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience • Strong understanding of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas) • Experience with Workday ERP and/or IFRS is a plus Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
