Senior HPC Storage Architect & Team Lead (Hybrid)

Stanford Research Computing • Stanford, CA • Full‑time • 3 positions • HYBRID Stanford Research Computing is a collaboration between University IT and the Vice Provost and Dean of Research. We operate high‑performance computing environments for researchers, provide one‑time consultations on projects, and offer contract support for individual labs, departments, and schools. Open Positions Principal Storage Architect & Team Lead – Lead the storage team with responsibility for Oak (file storage used by multiple clusters), Fir (fast scratch for Sherlock), and Elm (object storage on top of tape). Knowledge of Lustre, InfiniBand, and PB‑scale storage is important. Storage Architect or Storage Sysadmin – Maintain and expand Oak, our 20+ PB Lustre storage environment for HPC clusters. May also support Elm. Knowledge of Lustre, InfiniBand, and PB‑scale storage is important. GPU Cluster Sysadmin – Work with Marlowe, a 1SU NVIDIA DGX H100 SuperPOD with DDN Intelliflash and DDN NFS storage. Support AI/ML/Deep Learning/LLM software and frameworks in an HPC environment, keep the system up‑to‑date, and liaise with NVIDIA/DDN and users. Interaction with PIs is frequent.
