Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• This position is a Survey Party Chief which requires 4 - 8 years of experience supervising a survey field crew performing control surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring and as-built surveys.
• Must have the ability to mentor, train, and manage assigned staff in the field.
• Must have the ability to operate robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, digital and optical levels, and RTK GPS equipment.
• Must have excellent math skills and be able to perform survey calculations in the field.
• Must have ability to interpret design plans and understand as-built drawings and roadway plans.
• Must have ability to create legible field sketches and detailed field notes.
• A valid current driver's license is required.
• Ability to follow instructions and have a positive can-do attitude are necessities.
• Must possess leadership and mentoring skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, willing to work evenings/weekends when required, willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Execution: Accurately record and report daily forms per project requirements. Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget. Review all work assigned before beginning and ensure all tasks are performed according to applicable industry standards and client requirements. Inspect and correct work for completeness and accuracy before submission.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements. Clearly communicate workflow needs to your team and supervisor.
• Compliance: Understand and follow OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies at all times. Review job site safety daily and take immediate action to document and resolve issues.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in cross-training as requested to enhance team capabilities. Work collaboratively with your team to maximize production and accuracy.
• Other Tasks: Submit accurate time sheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
• Highschool Diploma/GED

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to maintain required certifications.
