Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I trauma center OR, requiring 2 years of experience and NBSTSA certification.

Details

Main Operating Room within a Level I academic trauma center featuring 21 OR suites covering all surgical specialties.

Common cases include Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, and GU/GYN.

Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30am-7:00pm.

No call requirements.

Float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units/sister facilities as required.

EPIC charting system used.

Radiation badge required.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of OR Surgical Technologist experience required.

NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted).

BLS certification (AHA) required.

License required if applicable.

Experience in Neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and Robotics (DaVinci Xi) cases highly preferred.

Level I trauma center experience preferred.

Full SSN required for consideration.

Additional Information

Support surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties in a high-volume, academic Magnet-designated department.

Team consists of 75% Registered Nurses and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate.

Scrubs provided by facility.

First-time travelers will be considered.

Previous facility staff (including PRN) must have been separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.

All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for approval based on facility needs.

Local candidates accepted and considered on a case-by-case basis.

Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; those within the radius are considered local.

Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is dependent on unit needs.

During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams.

Non-billable training modules averaging 4 hours must be completed prior to start.
