As part of a rapidly growing engineering firm, you'll have the opportunity to help establish and grow a transportation practice while maintaining the flexibility, visibility, and influence that often disappear in larger organizations.This role offers the opportunity to:Help shape the future of transportation services within a growing organization.Work directly with senior leadership on growth strategy and market expansion.Build lasting relationships with transportation clients throughout Texas.Take on visible leadership responsibilities and influence key decisions.Play a meaningful role in developing a transportation practice from the ground floor.Whether your background is rooted in project development, roadway design, program management, transportation planning, or major project delivery, we're interested in speaking with experienced transportation professionals who are excited about growth and leadership opportunities.Help Us Build What's NextIf you're looking for an opportunity to combine transportation expertise, client relationship-building, and leadership with the chance to help grow a Texas transportation practice, we'd welcome a conversation.ResponsibilitiesServe as a key transportation leader within M&J's Texas operations.Develop and strengthen relationships with TxDOT, NTTA, municipalities, airport sponsors, MPOs, and other transportation stakeholders.Lead and support transportation pursuits, proposals, interviews, and capture planning efforts.Serve as Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, Task Lead, or Technical Lead on transportation projects.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver transportation planning, project development, and design services.Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering staff.Help establish processes, resources, and capabilities necessary to support long-term transportation growth.Represent M&J at industry events, conferences, professional organizations, and client meetings.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.Texas PE license, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.Approximately 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.Experience supporting projects for TxDOT, NTTA, municipalities, airports, or other public-sector transportation clients.Experience serving as a Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, Task Lead, or technical lead on transportation projects.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Ability to lead projects, support pursuits, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Preferred QualificationsExisting relationships within the Texas transportation market.Experience with TxDOT project development and/or PS&E delivery.Experience supporting NTTA projects.Experience participating in shortlisted interviews and major pursuits.Experience mentoring and developing staff.Experience helping grow a transportation practice, client base, or service line.BenefitsM&J is a leader in providing quality engineering consulting services to a diverse and exciting client base.
