Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Basic Function : 
Under the direction of the Billing Supervisor and according to established policies and procedures, this individual will work denials and accounts aging reports for insurance as well as answering billing calls.

Working Relations
Position reports to :  Billing Supervisor
Position supervises :  None

Internal and external relationships :  As a representative of Bluegrass Orthopaedics all comments, attitudes, actions and behaviors have a direct affect on the Company’s image and perceptions of quality service.  Interaction with patients, families, physicians, referral services, visitors, volunteers, coworkers, supervisors, venders, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional.  This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork in line with company standards and guidelines to promote positive relationships and excellent patient care.

Total education, vocational training and experience : 

1. High school diploma or equivalent required. 
2. Good communication skills both verbal and written.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
4. Two years billing experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
5. Computer skills are required.
6. Legible handwriting.

1. Performs billing and mailing duties in a timely, efficient manner.
2. Performs clerical duties within established procedural guidelines.
3. Demonstrates ability to organize, set priorities, and manage multiple priorities and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

6. Maintains patient safety within established procedural guidelines.
7. Performs duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

1. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
2. Attends and participates in all applicable company training and development workshops scheduled by the company.
3. Maintains work area and equipment in an orderly manner.
4. Maintains dress and appearance according to standards as observed by management.
5. Demonstrates professional, courteous, helpful and cooperative behavior.
6. Performs all other duties as assigned.
