Per Diem Physician Assistant- Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Medicine

Responsible for patient care with supervising physician, and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics, and performance of corrective, preventive and therapeutic measures in the inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System, and the department of hire. Responsibilities Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration. Assess patients’ needs and develop plan of care in collaboration with the physician. Provide health teaching, guidance and counseling. Make appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physician. Perform complete physical exams utilizing customary techniques. Order diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physician. Order medications in collaboration with physician. Work with Attending physicians to effectuate timely discharges, order tests, coordinate procedures and work with social workers and hospital staff to set up outpatient supplies/medications. Includes direct admissions H&P, initial orders, and communication with family and attending. Perform daily rounds. May be required to perform other duties as assigned or when necessary. Qualifications Masters, Graduate of an ARC-PA Accredited Physician Assistant Program; previous health related experience and experience as a PA preferred. Required: all credentialing documents including NYS PA registration, diploma, license, current PA certification, ACLS, BCLS, PALS. Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63.6644 - $84.6662 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
