Metal Fabrication Machine Operator

This role focuses on setting up and operating metal fabrication equipment such as brake presses, lasers, stamping presses, and punch press machines to form and punch metal components used in a variety of products. You will play a key part in ensuring parts meet precise specifications by interpreting blueprints and performing accurate measurements with precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press, laser, stamping press, and punch press machines to form and punch metal parts according to production requirements.
• Follow blueprints and work instructions to produce parts that meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures to perform accurate measurements and verify part dimensions.
• Monitor machines during operation, making necessary adjustments to settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform basic fabrication tasks related to press brake and laser operation as needed to support production.
• Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation and report any issues promptly.
• Inspect finished parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality, and take corrective action when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Participate in job-related training, including setups and programming, to expand skills and support internal growth.
• Follow attendance and reliability expectations to contribute to consistent, high-performing production teams.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of experience operating punch press, brake press, laser, stamping, or CNC machines in a fabrication environment.
• At least 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints for metal fabrication or manufacturing.
• At least 2+ years of experience using calipers, micrometers, and gauges for precise measurement and quality verification.
• Proficiency with tape measures and basic measurement techniques.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication processes, including press brake and laser operation.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed work instructions and production specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
• Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and follow all safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant certifications in metal fabrication, machining, or industrial manufacturing are beneficial.
• Willingness to learn advanced setups and programming for fabrication equipment.
• Interest in ongoing skills development, including both technical and life skills training.
• Reliability and strong attendance record to align with performance-based growth opportunities.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Grafton, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
